Heart Connection Meditation

What does it mean to live with an open heart? You’ve heard the song “Listen to Your Heart”, but what does that truly mean? And how is it important to your every day life?

Sit with those questions for a moment and just notice what arises for you.

Before we dive in, I invite you to join me on a journey into your heart space. Take a deep breath in, drawing the air up from your belly, expanding into the rib cage and around your heart. For a brief moment, close your eyes and bring your attention to the center of your chest. Your heart. Be gentle and compassionate towards yourself and your ability to sit with your heart.

What sensations do you notice there?

Is it warm? Cold? Tingly? Heavy? Expansive?

Without trying to change anything, just sit with it.

As you sit within the center of your being, imagine your ears sitting on the sides of your heart….listening…receiving.

Be present to anything that arises.

By dropping into your heart space in this way, you are developing a relationship and giving space for your heart within your life. Maybe you already can hear your heart, or with practice, you are able to start listening to what your heart has to say.

Breathing deeply into your heart, imagine your heart filling with a golden, shimmering light. Feel that light expand through your chest, through your whole body, expanding out through the room, connecting to all of your loved ones, and eventually connecting to the heart of humanity and the heart of mother earth. You can feel the shear power of your heart and the hearts of all humans- the strongest electromagnetic field. Now bring awareness to the sensations of the heart. Is there a difference from before?? How would you describe the feelings you have within you?
